Hi. I'm Joslyn Yeager. I'm a creative human.
In Big Magic, Elizabeth Gilbert writes "If you're alive, you're a creative person."
I needed to learn the opposite: If you're a creative person, you're also alive (and human).
Creativity has always come easy for me, being a human has not. (For years, I wanted to be a robot.)
After art school, I went to human school. I graduated from Accomplishment Coaching's Coaches' Training Program and got trained as a life and leadership coach.
Something magical happens when creative people access their humanity. It's no longer about getting it right or being perfect. Page views and comment sections lose all meaning and significance. Suddenly, there are no excuses or circumstances standing in the way. It's not about what you should do or who you have to be for other people.
Instead, creativity and the work you do is about something bigger that can't be ignored. It's about creating joy, connecting with others, rediscovering your passion, taking care of yourself, and remembering who you are and who you want to be in the world. It's about a higher purpose.
For me, it's all about full expression, community, and being of service to others. From that place, there is nothing to do right, nothing to fix, no act to put on - just some cool stuff to create and cool humans to support.
Being a coach is humbling. It's a gift to partner with people in this way. I get to see the messy, vulnerably side of my clients, as well as their greatness, their gifts, and their success.
